Girls in Airports is a five-piece Danish band formed in 2009. The sound of Girls in Airports has been described as ‘a unique blend of Nordic jazz lyricism, indie-rock influences and sounds from around the world’. Their charismatic live performances have quickly made them one of the most talked about new bands on the international scene – and gained them a loyal group of followers of both critics and audiences.
After four successful studio albums the band released “Live” in September 2017 on the British label Edition Records.
In the spring of 2019 Girls in Airports released 3 singles with short videos, which was followed by their first tour in the US in June 2019. The next full-length album will be released in 2020.
"Girls in Airports has an unusual sound; with a blend of lyrical, driving and global music, they represent an alternative direction for jazz and one that is largely untapped...Live represents some of the best jazz coming out of Denmark, and Girls in Airports are well worth a listen."
